A New Year- Thoughts on Day One1/2/2026 Warnemunde, New Year's Eve 2025 (Photo taken by me) See What Is...
What would our lives look like if we allowed ourselves to see things as they truly are, rather than as we believe they ought to be? So much of what we’re carrying is not born from reality itself, but from the lens through which we perceive it. Our ability to trust, expectations, and deeply held beliefs tint the image we have of ourselves, of other people, and of the world. Quietly and often without noticing, we create a somewhat distorted perception—and in doing so, we lose touch with what is real. “See what is” is a gentle invitation to look more closely. It invites us to release our resistance to what cannot be changed and to meet life as it is—raw, honest, wonderful, and unfiltered. Not through the glasses of mistrust, doubt, disappointment, or impossible expectations, but in its true form, with all its beauty and all its rough edges, its ebbs and its flows. When we learn to see and accept life as it throws itself on us, we discover happiness and contentment in the present moment. And quite surprisingly, reality is often far less difficult and insurmountable than the stories our minds create. To see life as it is, to place events in their proper context and put them in the right boxes, and to respond with more awareness can ease us or even free us from unnecessary dark moments and the weight we carry on our shoulders. Trying to ‘See what is’ is our amazing chance to open the doors to more clarity—and toward a quiet, profound sense of happiness, self-confidence, and love. Happy New Year, this is to a great one...
